Publishing, Web Apps and Versions

Ship changes deliberately.

Draft, publish, export

Edits happen in a draft; publishing makes the current draft live for the web app and API. Dify can generate a shareable web app or embeddable chat widget for each app. Apps can be exported and imported as a DSL file (YAML), which is useful for backups, moving between environments and code review. Test drafts with representative inputs before publishing, keep exported DSL files in version control, and note what changed in each release. Dify's node names, menus and options change between versions; check the current Dify documentation.

A release routine

Simple habits prevent surprises.

1 edit the draft; run the saved test inputs (normal, edge, unanswerable)
2 compare outputs with the previous version
3 export DSL -> commit to git with a short change note
4 publish
5 watch logs and feedback for the first hours
6 if needed, re-import the previous DSL to roll back

Keep DSL exports in git

Version-controlled DSL files give you history, diffs and a rollback path; remove secrets before committing.

त्वरित जाँच: What is the DSL export useful for?

  • Replacing the knowledge base
  • Training models
  • Storing user passwords
  • Backups, moving apps between environments and reviewing changes
Answer

Backups, moving apps between environments and reviewing changes — Treat app definitions like code.
